I walk through the long grass, the sun is warm but the grass is cool against my skin.  It is a small climb to the top of the hill where a large tree overlooks the valley below.

I reach the top and gently sit down, leaning against the large trunk, I sense the serenity and strength of this old tree.  I wonder how much change it has seen in its lifetime.

The sun beads down through the gently swaying leaves and branches, I look up, occasionally the sun gleams directly in my eyes, the sun dances with the leaves, it dances to the song of the breeze.

On one side of the hill in the valley below, lays the city, like ants making tracks to their nests, the people come and go, sometimes acknowledging each other, but mainly set on their tasks and goals, meandering through their own lives.

On the other side of the hill is a small creek is running, it carves its way through the valley, uniting itself with a stream further down, the water trickles over the rocks and reeds but with intent to reach its goal.

I edge my way down to this creek and sit on its bank, I watch as the water gently lifts the reeds and caresses the rocks as it passes by, it does not force change but over time, with gentle persuasion the rock becomes smooth allowing the water to pass more quickly, each gives to the other.

A school of small fish quietly swim against the flow, they get their life from this creek, they feed, they breath, they are content, they have no fear because they are in their surroundings, they ask for nothing that the water can not give them, their needs although basic, require no argument, no contemplation, they just know that what they need in life will be given freely.

Peace can come in many forms, for me, this is my highest goal, and music and sound is my key, I listen and my heart slows, I am in my world, I have no needs, no wants, no desires.  As I feel each note, my emotions are open to the sound, sometimes there is sadness as a melody replays a past memory of time lost but mainly there is an inner innocence where there is no past to regret, no present to worry about and no future to be concerned for, there is only now.

Time has no relevance here, time is only a measurement of our physical existence not of our spirit.
